Tehama District Fair Flower Show Winners

Red Bluff Garden Club works with the Tehama District Fair each year to put on a National Garden Club Flower Show at the fair. The Floriculture Building was filled with fragrant flowers and plants, recording over 325 entries this year!

In the Horticulture Division, Container Plants Grown for Flowers and Unusual Plants or Containers, The Best of Division Rosettes and NGC Grower's Choice Awards were given to Judy Liebert. For Container Plants Grown for Foliage, Audrey Fortune received the Best of Division Rosette and the NGC Grower's Choice Award.

In the Combination Container Division, Judy Liebert won the Best of Division, Grower's Choice, Best of Show, and the NGC Horticultural Excellence Award. Judy Liebert also won the Best of Division Rosette and the NGC Arboreal Award. The Cut Flower Best of Division Rosettes and NGC Award of Merit were won by Judy Paul. There were 110 total entries in the Horticultural Division.

In the Design Division, there were 23 entries. Masie Skelton won the Designer's Choice Best of Division Rosette and the Best of Show Ribbon! Lacy Trunnell won the All-Dry Designs Division Rosette. Judy Paul won the Petite Designs Division Rosette. In the Division of Table Settings, Trudi Morris won the Best of Division Rosette.

Botanical Arts had ten unique entries. Judy Paul won the Best of Division Rosette and the Best of Show Ribbon in the Sparkling Creation wearable Apparel Class. Lorree Clary won Best of Division rosette and Best of Show Ribbon in the Miniature Fairy Garden Design Class.

In the Junior Division, a huge shout-out and hand clapping needs to go to the Red Bluff and Corning High School floriculture classes!!! The junior division had over 190 very outstanding entries, which certainly made the flower show look and smell wonderful!

The RBGC would like to acknowledge the hard work of Emily Brown from Corning High School and Lacy Trunnel from Red Bluff High School! These teachers are making a difference in the lives of their students while teaching them amazing skills with floral arrangements. Their continued support of the Fair Flower Show makes it such a success! And we know they are also planting seeds for future gardeners and plant lovers!

The entry categories included petite, full-sized designs and table settings. Neon Lights and Country Nights were popular fair theme. Other themes were California Gold, Sunrise/Sunset, Let Freedom Ring, Fireflies, Blossoms & Bees, and Paw Patrol. Each was very well done, using creative containers and nice choices of flowers. Our teams of judges had to give careful deliberation to these entries, which were divided into groups of 6, giving 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and Participant ribbons for each group.

In addition to Floriculture arrangements, there were a few attractive horticultural exhibits in the Junior Division, as well as three entries in the wheelbarrow gardens.

Thank you to the SERRF school groups for planting some wonderful wheelbarrows to display in the outdoor garden area. Although they did not officially enter them, they certainly added a festive touch to the area!

Thanks to all the Red Bluff Garden Club members who worked hard to bring entries, set up the display tables, take in entries, and help with clerking details and clean up! Special thanks to the judges who came from Palo Cedro, Chico, Davis, Roseville, Colusa, and Golden Valley. A big thank you to the Tehama District Fair for partnering with our club to sponsor this show. It is so nice to be able to showcase our local talents as well as educate the public about flower shows and horticulture. We look forward to doing this again next year and hope that even more community members will consider entering their plants, flowers, and designs!
