There's no turning back—the winter weather is officially here and what better time to transition the contents of your closet to reflect the new season than now? When building your winter wardrobe, there are a few key essentials that are bound to star front and center—think a cozy shearling jacket, a knit maxi dress, a sturdy lug sole boot; the list goes on. However, there's one cold-weather classic that was a standout staple on the FW22 runways and is now, hopefully, in your closet. Corduroy clothing is a timeless winter wardrobe essential for a reason; its sturdy, warming fabric is sure to fight the chill on even the coldest of days.

Lately, corduroy has even made the switch from classic to cool girl, with its spokesperson being none other than Hailey Bieber. During Paris Fashion Week this year, Bieber stepped out in an oversized, double-breasted corduroy blazer from Khaite and it was an immediate hit. The dark brown hue looks good with just about anything, but especially with faded blue denim à la Bieber. For a full corduroy ensemble, pair Khaite's ‘Tanner’ blazer with its matching ‘Neer’ corduroy midi skirt. This sleek skirt suit is the perfect foundation for any of your fall boots to also shine.

Other luxury corduroy clothing options include a short suit from Blazé Milano, a ’70s-inspired canary yellow suit from Isabel Marant, and a jacquard midi skirt from Ulla Johnson. Offerings from the High Street are just as covetable, from a navy corduroy blazer and pants from Everlane to Mango's burnt orange suit jacket and flared trousers. A navy menswear-inspired suit vest from Bella Freud is a chic twist on the trend, while corduroy miniskirts from Re/Done, Ganni, and Acne Studios are also up for grabs. Classic corduroy trousers are to be expected, and these options from Citizens of Humanity, Mother Denim, and Veronica Beard fit the bill. Cozy up in chic corduroy coats from Gabriela Hearst and Cos, and even more, wear a corduroy dress from the Vampire's Wife to any and all your upcoming holiday festivities.

Below, here's our edit of the 32 best corduroy outfits to shop (and wear!) all winter long.
