Make no mistake of it: the heat has been relentless and our patience to endure it, weary. Yet we live in times when the balmy heat turns bearable in certain conditions, such as when our wardrobe is cleverly optimised for the tropics. Think floaty silhouettes, diaphanous fabrics and the indisputable functionality of a reliable pair of sunglasses. One might still contend, however—might the lighter picks out of our closet be all we have to battle against the undulating weather?

On an avid scroll of one's recent social media feeds, the answer rings true and clear: only if you can't make a holiday out of it. Blazing through the heat of it all is our stylish celebrity set—all enjoying their preamble to what we fashion fiends love to call, the ‘hot girl summer’. And as per the prerequisites to achieving the much-desired vibe, not only have their destinations been declared, but they’ve also made sure to flaunt the only body armour deemed necessary: their ever-expanding collection of swimsuits.

Before the heat turned up in her part of the world, Dua Lipa took herself on a trip to Jamaica—and took us on a style escapade whilst she was at it. She was spotted in a fascinating range of seaside-ready outfits; think everything from a Jacquemus ensemble and an eclectic pick off GCDS's swimwear collection to her favoured pulls from Indonesian label Isa Boulder. And over the past few weeks, Kendall Jenner and Hailey Bieber have been traipsing through some sand and sea on their own in their latest cart-outs from brands such as Sommer Swim. Closer to home, K-pop starlet Seulgi of Red Velvet and (G)I-dle's Miyeon have both spotted in their own quirky one-piece selections from South Korean swimwear brand Delightpool—much to the delight of their fans.

Should you be looking to embrace the tropical weather and grant yourself a beach or yacht adventure of your own, look no further. Below, Vogue Singapore shortlists all the celebrity-approved swimwear brands that have been gaining themselves some star cred. It wouldn't hurt to live on island time every once in a while, anyway.

One we can't leave off this list for good reason: Frankies Bikinis. Birthed in Malibu, California, its founder-owner Francesca Aiello has seen her entire range of swimwear explode all over the internet—most prominently through its starry collab with Gigi Hadid last year. But yet another cosmic tie-up has since come to life, by way of the brand's joint move with Pamela Anderson. Amidst the 22-piece collection, the Baywatch star's iconic red one-piece is made anew—with all the same leg-baring elements to it. But it's the collaboration's other pieces—such as a baby yellow bottom with ruffle detailing or the white set with side-ties—that really shows Aiello's design ethos shine through: a little ’90s-inspired, a little cheeky and most importantly, carefree.

And it's definitely amassed itself a cult following too—with the likes of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Rihanna, Cara Delevingne and most recently, South Korean star Krystal Jung all choosing to wear the brand's distinctive look.

Isa Boulder's had a finger on the pulse of things since it was founded by Indonesian duo Cecile Basari and Yuli Suri. Whilst its bold, non-conforming knit and crochet shapes are the true trick of the trade for seaside living now, there's no denying that its swim sets still hold cult status—considering it was first launched as a swimwear line. And understandably so, with its flattering ruched make from its silky-smooth stretch satin fabric and ’80s inspired brassy shades.

If it's coverage you’re after, Melissa Simone's picks just might be further up your alley. With its thoughtful design needle, the luxurious swimwear brand utilises its fabrics at will—to cast a catalogue that caters to a wide range of needs. Be it those who’ll prefer some extra safety down below or the ones who might require better protection when surfing or diving, the brand can be counted on to give breath to an array of shapes: shapely one-pieces, long-sleeved tops and even longer swim pants. With the addition of their mesh skirt and dress designs too, it's no wonder that the likes of Bella Hadid would wear it for a beach day under the sun.

For all its fanciful prints and electric colour combinations, it seems Marni can do no wrong with a vibrant splash or two in the sea. For its latest tie-up with No Vacancy Inn, more eclectic designs are spotted throughout the joy-filled catalogue.

Enter Bikini Bottom with GCDS's zany creations inspired by the underwater world of Spongebob Squarepants. Featuring a character-shaped cup and halter neck tie, each of the house's crochet creations are imbued with their own eccentricity, just like Dua Lipa's recent Hello Kitty snag or Mia Khalifa's choice to pair it with a diaphanous outer for her poolside lazing.
