Animal Crossing: New Horizons Player Creates Wednesday

One talented Animal Crossing: New Horizons player designs a room that looks straight out of the new hit Netflix show Wednesday.

A very creative Animal Crossing: New Horizons player and fan of Netflix's new hit show Wednesday has re-created an iconic room featured in the series. There is truly nothing better than gamers combining their love for other franchises and bringing them to life by utilizing Animal Crossing: New Horizons' extensive design and customization options. Since the latest entry in the popular franchise made its debut in 2020, creations such as this one have been consistently popping up online.

By including the option for players to let their imaginations run wild, it's no wonder why the game is still going strong almost three years later. It's also a good indicator of why Animal Crossing: New Horizons is now the best-selling game of all time in Japan, beating out a title previously held by Pokemon Red, Green, and Blue Versions since 1996, Animal Crossing: New Horizons also came out during the COVID-19 pandemic and worldwide lockdowns, giving gamers a way to pass time and connect during long periods of isolation. This latest fan creation proves that when it comes to the Animal Crossing community, players will find a way to bring their favorite movies and television shows to the game no matter what.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons player and Reddit user Nibnnern who is clearly a fan of Wednesday, has recreated the Nevermore Academy dorm room that the titular character shares at her school. This specific room was brought to life by the talented gamer in the expansion to the main game, Happy Home Paradise. It features many design elements fans remember from the Netflix series, such as the iconic split design stained-glass window and Wednesday's scorpion Nero. The gamer replied to questions about just how the window was created, stating they used some Photoshop magic after the room was initially designed to get it just right. Nibnnern isn't the only gamer who brought creepiness to the wholesome game. Another fan covered their entire Animal Crossing: New Horizons island in skeleton furniture pieces just because they could.

Wednesday made its debut on Netflix late last month. It follows Wednesday Addams of The Addams Family navigating a new school called Nevermore Academy and helping to solve a local murder mystery using her psychic abilities. The show gained quite a fanbase, mostly for Jenny Ortega's performance as Wednesday. It's no surprise why Nibnnern would want to bring it to life in-game. Recently another talented artist created a fan-made poster for Animal Crossing: New Horizons as a movie showing how seamlessly this franchise blends film and gaming together.

Nibnnern's creation gained high praise online from other players, and the Reddit post gained almost 9k upvotes from users who were so impressed with how accurate the room was. From creepy to festive, this game lets players show off whatever they are into at the moment, such as with holidays. One gamer got into the festive spirit in Animal Crossing: New Horizons by giving their basement a proper Christmas makeover. Only time will tell what is next for the popular franchise, but one thing is abundantly clear, creativity will never die.

Animal Crossing: New Horizons is available for Switch.
